Conversation with the Archbishop

The Melbourne Anglican Foundation is happy to sponsor the Archbishop’s Conversation series again in 2013.

"The aim of the Conversation series is to engage in public discussion with community leaders on important social and ethical issues of the day."

Many attend the early morning sessions at BMW Edge in Federation Square, keen to listen to Archbishop Philip Freier and his assortment of guests at the Conversations held frequently throughout the year.

The conversations provide a broad cross section of Melbournians with the opportunity to hear and engage with key speakers on topics of public interest. Past conversationalists include Police Chief Commissioner Simon Overland, author John Marsden and comedienne Corinne Grant. Topics covered have included “Safe Streets in Melbourne: a Past Memory or Future Hope,” “Is Home Ownership Yesterdays Dream?” and “Does Australia Have a Sustainable Future”.

The Church has long been a vehicle for the discussion of moral and family based issues. The aim of the Conversation series is to engage in public discussion with community leaders on important social and ethical issues of the day; to promote better public and community understanding and awareness of such issues; and encourage a positive, active and informed approach to tackling such issues.
