MACO is one of the diocese’s best kept secrets.

Does your parish have an organ or piano that requires tuning or maintenance? Does it have a band with guitars, amplification and other equipment? Do you have a choir? Or perhaps you want to purchase a painting or sculpture?

If your answer is ‘yes’ to any of these (and this is not a full list) you may be eligible to establish a fund, and gifts to it are tax-deductible.

St John’s Toorak, for example, has a superb organ which requires frequent maintenance. It has a robed choir which needs music and has special events with special musical needs; gifts the parish receives from its parishioners to contribute to the costs are tax-deductible.

Perhaps your parish supports an art club or a group that draws icons. You may have a Christian dance or drama group that performs during worship, or has special concerts. If so, we may be able to help.

If any of these apply to you, or you can come up with another idea that promotes the arts in some way, contact our Executive Officer, who will advise you further about setting up a special fund.
