Our commitment is to the two Great Commandments - to love God with all our heart and soul and mind and strength, and to love our neighbours as ourselves. (see Mark 12: 30-31).

It is also to follow the Great Commission to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit (see Matthew 28: 19).

Our mission strategy is threefold:

  • Actively nurturing the ongoing growth of faith and maturity in the context of Christian community;
  • Expanding mission impact by re-invigorating faith communities.
  • Communicating God’s love through the development of culturally applicable Fresh Expressions.

Our vision

Our vision is to be a church that is contemporary and locally-grounded, one that is engaged cross–culturally, serving and welcoming people from many different backgrounds. This church is characterized by the proclamation of the Good News of God’s love in Jesus Christ. Parishes and agencies are active in their communities providing practical service and sharing their faith in meaningful ways. Partnerships for local and global mission are established and supported.

And so the church in the Eastern Region puts a high priority on:

  • Team Ministries
  • New ministries created by the planting of congregations in growth areas
  • Supporting and encouraging each other in deaneries, archdeaconries and across the region and the diocese.
