Ministry conference 16-18 July 2014

We are living in the ‘Asian Century' with Asia Pacific neighbours.

We are experiencing a worldwide shift in the centre of gravity in military power, and in international matters including trade and finance, political alignment, resources, technologies and people seeking asylum.

Within the global context, Christianity is thriving in many areas of the world.

In parts of Asia the Christian church is growing, sometimes from a small base, but still making its contribution to the discussions about the future shape of the societies and Asian nations of which it is part. In multicultural Melbourne we are challenged to ensure that cultural diversity is affirmed across the diocese.

What does Mission and Ministry in the Asian Century look like for lay and clergy leaders in the Diocese of Melbourne?

It is our aim that this conference will provoke responses for all delegates, as we listen, learn, engage and worship together.

Grace and peace in Jesus Christ,
Archbishop Dr Philip Freier
