The Reverend Steve Webster

I am married to Penne and we have two young adult children, Jared and Kyria. I’m 47 years old and currently I’m the vicar of St. Michael’s North Carlton.

I’ve worked in a full-time capacity in parish work for 22 years and was ordained in 1991. Previous parishes I worked in were Hawthorn, Kew and Belgrave. Prior to this I worked as a tradesman in the building and engineering division of Telecom Australia.

I graduated from the first Australian Arrow Leadership Course in the mid-1990s and have had a subsequent role in mentoring and training a number of emerging church leaders in Melbourne.

I have a concern to see the Anglican Church become more effective connecting with younger people while staying firmly grounded in the lasting truths of the Gospel.

I have been an examining chaplain since 2007 and enjoy the experience of assisting faithful Christians to progress towards and through ordination into effective leadership in God’ church.

In addition to my parish responsibilities I am an honorary part-time staff member at the Carlton Football Club as chaplain to the players and staff.

I enjoy movies and music and sport.
