Bishop Nigel serves the Episcopal Area of Geelong, which includes Geelong, the Surf Coast and Melbourne’s western suburbs.

Before becoming Bishop of Geelong, he served as Vicar of St John’s Footscray and St Paul’s Geelong. He grew up, studied and was ordained in Kolkata, where he served as a curate, vicar and Dean of St Paul’s Cathedral, alongside wider diocesan, ecumenical and Anglican Communion leadership.

His ministry is shaped by a concern for people experiencing poverty and exclusion, the unity of the Church in its diversity, and helping disciples join in God’s work in the world. He works with the area’s archdeacons, clergy and lay leaders to support healthy churches, pastoral care and faithful Christian witness throughout the region.
